Born in Independencia, Chile, Fernan Enriquez moved to Toronto at the age of nine and has been playing music for over 25 years. Fernan plays a variety of flutes including the pan flute, kena, and several types of native flutes. He has released eight instrumental CDs including his latest release, Haunting Melodies. He has also joined forces with other artists contributing to hip-hop, jazz and Latin music recordings. His repertoire includes South American folk, popular and classical music from various cultures including Middle Eastern. When Fernan isn’t performing at festivals, concerts and events he promotes and builds native instruments, writes method books and practices photography.
