Theatre Production First Dance is getting Married

First Dance is getting Married. Well... Sort of. We were very happy to present a workshop production of First Dance last year at the Button Factory... and now have an almost parental glow knowing that we're co-presenting a more-mature version of the production.

First Dance Tour 2012

First Dance

Conceived and Created by Trevor Copp, Jeff Fox & Lisa O'Connell
September 27 & 28 | 8:00 PM | University of Waterloo's Theatre of the Arts

As gay marriage becomes legal in Canada, a man who is about to marry his male partner embarks on devising their traditional First Dance. Through ballroom dance and theatre, his journey as a gay man is explored through the challenge of creating a dance for a ritual that has no history.

“They move with considerable style, grace, strength and precision…a sparkling gem that needs little polishing.”
