Saturday, April 26th Neruda Arts presents an evening of authentic flamenco and Middle Eastern music with Toronto band Ventanas that will rival any late night adventure in the south of Spain. Neruda Arts’ Artistic Director, Isabel Cisterna, explains, “the cabaret atmosphere at the Courtyard Studio is the perfect setting to experience Ventanas – I promise, you will feel the earth move.”

The skill and virtuosity of Ventanas is due in large part to singer Tamar Ilana, guitarist Dennis Duffin and dancer Alexandra Talbot – all three have perfected their craft during intensive periods of study under flamenco masters in Spain.

But other members of Ventanas are no less accomplished. Oud player, Demetrios Petsalakis is a member of several Toronto bands and has received numerous awards and recognitions for his command of stringed instruments. Jessica Hana Deutsch on violin is a member of the Lemon Bucket Orchestra, along with Dennis Duffin, and brings expertise in gypsy jazz, Klezmer, chamber folk, Celtic, Latin and classical music to Ventanas.
