Each week we will highlight a different style of music and dance from our beautiful and vibrant Latin culture, but will also include some Afro and Caribbean styles as well (since these are a heavy influence on Latin culture too).
You will learn a little bit more about where it all comes from, and the fundamental movements to each style.
We will learn, demonstrate and then practice together with music. There are no mistakes and we are all there to learn together.
All levels welcomed.
I believe music and dance can unite people of all ages, ethnicities, race, etc. That is one of the main reasons why I love what I do.
Born in Guatemala, raised in Canada, music and dance has played an important role in keeping me connected to my roots and culture.
I am fortunate enough to have started dancing professionally 15+ years ago.
I’ve had the opportunity to be in various music videos, back up dancing, teaching, choreographing, creative directing, to now owning my own dance company.
Some of my best dance memories are opening at concerts for artists I love like Nicky Jam, Sean Paul, Oscar de Leon, Rauw Alejandro & more. I have also had the chance to teach dance inside a women’s prison, which was a very special and positive experience for me.
