About the Event

Neruda Arts is partnering with Yuva Arts Project, a cross-cultural collaborative initiative in partnership with MT Space and Prerana, an anti-trafficking organisation situated in Mumbai, India. This project will take place for two weeks in May 2019 in Kitchener-Waterloo. Using arts as a medium of dialogue and expression, Yuva aims to address social challenges faced by marginalised youth (relating to identity, leadership and self-worth) while creating a space for them to explore solutions together. Eight youth from Mumbai’s red light district will collaborate with Canadian indigenous and newcomer youth over a series of arts workshops; Neruda Arts will be conducting Arpillera craft workshops! Yuva has also partnered with Healing of the Seven Generations, Community Justice Initiatives, Garry DIggins, Dr. Gerard Yun, Dr. Colin Lee and the Inshallah Choir."

Neruda Arts Arpillera workshop will take place at Button Factory Arts on Wednesday May 22 from 11-4PM
