About the Event

Lionel KIZABA started playing drums at the age of 5, first in the churches of Kinshasa and then he quickly joined various groups in the region. He participated in his first international festival (Amsterdam Bocomo Festival) at the age of 12. During his adolescence, he worked as a drummer for various bands in Kinshasa. In 2009 and 2010, he was selected as drummer and music director for the Vodacom Superstar contest endorsed by Akon to help youth in DR Congo. In 2009, he brings together the best jazz musicians from Kinshasa to form his own band: Jazz Mobile. Lionel plays the role of artistic director, manager and drummer.
